There is so much of Thailand to explore, even if the beach isn't your thing. This itinerary has been designed to appeal to those looking for culture, nature, history and adventure. (Don't worry, the hotels still have amazing pools, so you will get some relaxation in too!)

Begin with 3 nights in the cultural north of Thailand and the city of Chiang Mai. Here is where you will see monks swathed in orange passing ancient temples, buzzy back streets and markets with exotic street food and an array of wonderful Thai restaurants. Beyond the city you rill find waterfalls, hill tribe villages and more temples.

This is where you head for the next two nights, The Bush Camp is a collection of ten luxury tents providing guests with a memorable all-inclusive glamping experience. You'll spend two nights glamping on the banks of Thailand's Ping River, spending three days encountering elephants respectfully in their natural habitats and learning more about the mahouts responsible for their care. You'll also meet members of the Karen Hilltribe, joining them in their day-to-day tasks. Come evening, watch the sunset, and then feast on a buffet of Thai and Western dishes before retreating to your African-style tent, a comfortable dwelling with hard flooring, a proper bed, and a private bathroom.
Fly to Bangkok, the bustling city that is an attack on your senses, where busy modernity sits alongside gracious history. Venture to the floating markets or the Grand Palace. Grab a bargain at the night markets or indulge in the city's legendary nightlife.

Finally, spend 3 nights on the banks of the renowned River Kwai. Cross River Kwai is a tempting collection of unusual and design-led accommodations.

Cross River Kwai sits on a gentle curve of this famous river. It's a head-turning place — its distinct and contemporary architectural design sees to that. Steel and glass juxtapose the green serenity of its surroundings (Kanchanaburi is a land of mountains, rice paddies, and sugar plantations) yet the design cleverly champions the scenery at every opportunity. Everything is orientated to maximise guests' exposure to the river. Your stay is in an Xfloat Luxe Cabin. The rooftops of these floating cabins are maximised, creating fabulous terraces for sundowners with huge, cushioned daybeds. You will also find an overwater mesh nest bed on the outside deck and have private access to your own two-seater kayak so you can paddle out when you simply can't resist the draw of the water for a moment longer.
